It's been 1433 days since the big day!

Since we were married in the beautiful Salt Lake Temple April 8, we have been super busy and absolutely adore married life.

Directly following our reception, we went on a quick, 2-day honeymoon to Midway so we could return to school Monday. Then, at the end of April, Shiloh graduated from BYU with an MBA. Andrew and Shiloh actually walked together - a fun 'Kodak moment.' Andrew will graduate in December with a Masters of Information Systems. Andrew has a couple classes to finish up long distance this fall.

After graduation, we took off for our romantic honeymoon to Victoria, British Columbia. We stayed downtown a few nights and really enjoyed getting to know the city. The double-decker bus tour was enlightening and lots of fun. We also found a charming Greek Cafˇ and had some surprisingly gross fish and chips at a traditional establishment. We were hoping for some tasty, fresh fish. Darn. After our stint downtown, we spent a few nights outside the city at a Bed and Breakfast right on the harbour. The view was simply gorgeous and Shiloh even saw a Bald Eagle. We were hoping to see some Orca's who frequent the waters near the B&B but were a few weeks too early. We were lucky enough to see some seals in the water while on our voyage over to the island. We rode on a huge boat which transported us and our rental car. Perhaps our favorite place in Victoria was a simply stunning garden near our B&B. (They used the castle outside the gardent gates for the filming of X-Men.) The gardens at this secret local were beautiful like the Buchart Gardens only free and a bit more wild. We took about 500 pictures at the garden and more than 1300 on our trip to Victoria. Since we flew from Salt Lake into Seattle, we had a fun drive home, stopping at beautiful Vancouver on our way. I was simply stunned by the beauty of this metropolis - water, mountains and city all combined into one amazing place. Our last night, Andrew took me to the uber-romantic Space Needle for a yummy dinner at sunset. It was simply dreamy and we were sad to go home.

We arrived home in a frenzy as we had 3 days to pack all our stuff and move to Texas for Andrew's summer internship at Exxon. Since we left late (of course) we ended up making the 24 hour drive Saturday and Sunday - arriving in Houston at 2am. A few hours of our trip Sunday were quite stressful since Andrew's battery became disconnected and his care wouldn't start when we tried to leave a rest stop in Western Texas. A really nice man jerry rigged his battery wiring so we could make it to Walmart - the only store opened on Mother's Day. We bought a new connector but had no idea how to install it. Luckily Texas are so kind and outgoing and another kind man stopped to help us. While Andrew knows a ton about computers we are both lost when it comes to cars so we were completely grateful for the generosity of these Texans who saved us.

The first week we were in Texas we stayed with a wonderful family who have the most amazing 15,000 square foot home I have ever seen. While the hour long (minimum) compute was awful for Andrew, I enjoyed their luxurious house and getting to spend time with the family. After a week, we signed papers on a lease downtown about 3 minutes from Andrew's office. Our place is large for a one bedroom (which means expensive utilities) but we love having a spot to call home.

Over Memorial Day we spent a week on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with Andrew's family. All the kids and grandkids came, including Michael and Merrilee who had just given birth to their third girl. It was a great blessing to have so much fun as a family and create such fond memories. The large beach house had a room for each child as well as a swimming pool. At night on the beach crabs covered the sand and gave me the heeby geebies. Andrew and I took a side trip and went over the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge - an amazing site.

Now, Shiloh is working on projects, like putting the wedding video together before she moves to Northern Virginia in early August to begin working for Pricewaterhouse Cooper. Andrew will finish his internship in Texas with Exxon on August 19 and will then join Shiloh in Virginia. We will be making Virginia our home and are excited to see what the next few years bring.
